One of the things that I hold most dear to me, is being not only a veteran of the United States Navy, but also, being a U.S. Marine wife. It's something that some people never could imagine doing, and I was one of those. I always said I wouldn't marry someone in the military, but God had other plans for me. I'm so glad I did. I've found some of the best friends, closest relationships and bonds that can never be broken.
What families go through, while they're spouse is away, or while they're son, daughter, family member is gone, is something no one can understand, without having been there. Back in 2006 I had the opportunity to photograph my first homecoming session, I fell completely in love! It was something that just fit, and felt so right. Being there for these families the moment they saw they're loved one again was right where I was supposed to be. When I started, my husband was in Afghanistan, so it only seemed fit that I still be apart of the deployments and help capture some of the sweetest memories that these families now have to last forever. These are now some of my most fondest memories as well, and you may see me wiping a tear now and then, its that special to me!
Now that my journey has brought me to Jacksonville, NC (Camp Lejeune), I am thrilled to be near Marine Corps bases and have the ability to offer these sessions again. The past few years I have been in Atlanta, GA and have been unable to be near enough to bases to offer these sessions. Please contact me if you are interested!
